Most folding doors sold in BC are built overseas and shipped in. Ours aren't. Every Lexario system is fabricated in our shop in Port Coquitlam by our own team. We're the only company in the province that builds, supplies and installs its own folding door and window systems.
Here's a look inside.
It starts with your plans
There are no standard sizes at Lexario. Every system starts with your drawings and the size of your rough opening, whether it’s a new build or a renovation. Your builder prepares the opening, and we fabricate your door to fit it exactly, with no filler strips and no “closest size.”
Quality material, on hand
We keep our aluminum stocked right here in the shop, and every profile is cut to the measurements for your opening. The LX55 frame is thermally broken, so the cold stays outside on a January morning instead of travelling through the frame.
Our equipment, our people
Building in-house means we control every step, from the first cut to the last inspection. It also means that when a builder, dealer or homeowner calls with a question, they're talking to the people who actually made their door.
Custom folding doors, built panel by panel
Each panel is made for one job and one opening, whether that’s a single kitchen door or a multi-unit development. And when a project calls for volume, our shop is set up to deliver: we can build dozens of matching doors in batches and keep them moving through the shop on schedule.
Frames are finished in Tiger Drylac Super Durable powder coat. Black, white and split finish (black outside, white inside) are our standard colours, and over 200 RAL colours are available on request.
Every piece carries our name
Our profiles are wrapped in Lexario-branded film. It protects the finish while your door is being built, and it's a reminder that we stand behind every piece that leaves the shop.
Ready for your project
Finished systems are fitted with German-made hardware, including 316-grade stainless pulls for coastal homes, then loaded into our own van and delivered to site. Want to see what happens next? Our Eagle Ridge, Coquitlam project shows one of these systems installed.
Folding doors: from a wall of glass to a wall that opens
This is what all that shop work is for. For the last 50 years, most homes in this market have been built with the same thing: a six-foot vinyl slider. Since 2014, Lexario has been working to change that with aluminum folding doors designed to be minimal: slim profiles, concealed German hardware, and more glass, less frame. For the past six years, our focus has been making them attainable for the average homeowner, not just high-end custom builds.
And the biggest difference is the light. Even with the doors closed, slim frames and wide panels of glass let an enormous amount of daylight into your home. On a cold, sunny winter day in Vancouver, the room fills with sun, and it feels almost like you’re sitting outside. In summer, fold the doors open and you are.
